Only the Lipoic acid ((R)-(+)-α-Lipoic acid) exists in nature and is an essential cofactor of four mitochondrial enzyme complexes. Lipoic acid ((R)-(+)-α-Lipoic acid) has been suggested to be nutritionally and therapeutically preferred form as antioxidant[1]. |
