SynthesisIn a 500 mL four-necked flask equipped with a PTFE stirrer, thermometer, reflux condenser and HCl gas introduction tube, 150.4 g (16 mol) of phenol, 39.2 g (0.4 mol) of cyclohexanone, 100 mL of toluene, and 624 g (008 mol) of 2-mercaptoethanol were added; and +dried HCl gas was passed through the flask at a uniform rate of 016 mol/h. The reaction was heated to 30 ??C and maintained for 7 h. Stopping stirring and heating, the slurry was filtered under pressure to obtain a pink filter cake. The reaction was heated in a water bath, raised to 30 ??C and kept for 7 h. Stirring and heating were stopped and the resulting slurry-like consistency was filtered under reduced pressure to give a pink filter cake. The filter cake was washed with deionized water at 100 ?? for 3~4 times until the pH was 7, and the crude product was dried to obtain 114.5 g. The crude product was dissolved in a round bottom flask heated with anhydrous ethanol, and then filtered under reduced pressure while it was hot to filter off the impurities insoluble in ethanol, the filtrate was cooled to room temperature, and then put into a refrigerator to cool down for crystallization, and recrystallized for 2~3 times, and the white crystals of 105.5 g were obtained with the yield of 98.4%.
