AC-DEVD-AMC Usage And Synthesis

Description

Ac-DEVD-AMC is a fluorogenic substrate for caspase-3. Caspase activity can be quantified by fluorescent detection of free AMC (7-amino-4-methylcoumarin), which is excited at 340-360 nm and emits at 440-460 nm.

Uses

N-Acetyl-Asp-Glu-Val-Asp-7-amido-4-methylcoumarin has been used as a substrate for caspase-3 assay in human colon cancer cell line and in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Fluorogenic substrate for caspase 3, a protease that is rapidly activated when cells are exposed to apoptotic conditions and that cleaves poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase.
