Chemical PropertiesCananga oil is produced by steam distillation of the flowers of C. odorata(DC) Hook. f. etThomson ssp. macrophylla. The yield, based on the weightof the flowers, is about 1%: The oil is a light to dark yellow liquid with a characteristic,floral, slightly woody odor.
