Indalpine BiologicalActivity

DescriptionIndalpine (LM 5008) is a potent and selective 5-HT uptake blocker. Indalpine is potent in displacing 3H-5-HT bound to brain membranes with the IC50 of 36 μM[1]. Indalpine, two antidepressant agent[2].
Related CatalogResearch Areas >>Neurological DiseaseSignaling Pathways >>Neuronal Signaling >>Serotonin Transporter
In VivoIn keeping with its potent reuptake-blocking property, acute IV Indalpine produces a marked decrease in the firing rate of dorsal raphe 5-HT neurons (ED50 0.33 mg/kg). The firing rate of dorsal raphe 5-HT neurons is assessed following 2-, 7- and 14-day treatments with Indalpine (5 mg/day IP). After 2 days, the firing rate of 5-HT neurons is greatly reduced, after 7 days it has recovered partially and after 14 days it has returned to normal[2].
