Preparation

Bis[alpha,alpha-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzenemethanolato]diphenylsulfur can be prepared by the reaction of the potassium salt of 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-phenylisopropanol with diphenyl sulfide in the presence of chlorine in ether at -78 °C.
