| Chemical Properties | Bluish red powder. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetone. Its aqueous solution is yellowish to brownish red, plus dilute sulfuric acid turns reddish orange; plus concentrated caustic soda turns brilliant red. In concentrated sulfuric acid is rose red, diluted to orange; in concentrated nitric acid color disappears. Dyeing with copper, iron, color and light change. |
