Poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate Usage And Synthesis
| Chemical Properties | liquid |
| Uses | Adhesives, coatings, sealants, photoresists, solder masks and photopolymers. |
| Uses | Polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate is used as adhesives, coatings, sealants, photo resists, solder masks and photopolymers. Polyethylene Glycol Dimethacrylate forms homopolymers and copolymers. Copolymers of Polyethylene Glycol Dimethacrylate can be prepared with acrylic acid and its salts, amides and esters, and with methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleic acid esters, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene, unsaturated polyesters and drying oils. It is also used as a very useful feedstock for chemical syntheses. It is employed as a cross linker for PVC plastisols. Polyethylene Glycol 200 Dimethacrylate is incorporated in cosmetic encapsulation resins and dental polymers. |
| Uses | High purity PEG dimethacrylates are commonly used in PEG-based hydrogels and crosslinking hydrophilic polymers. It is good for tissue engineering and 3D printing applications. |
| Definition | ChEBI: Ethylene glycol dimethacrylate is the enoate ester that is the 1,2-bis(methacryloyl) derivative of ethylene glycol. It has a role as a cross-linking reagent, a polymerisation monomer and an allergen. It is functionally related to an ethylene glycol and a methacrylic acid. |
